No matter who you are or how long you have been a Christian, you need to understand that there are very serious and real perils in these last days.
In hearing about yet another pastor that reached a point of despair that he actually thought that the best solution for his life, his family, his church, and all who knew him was to simply kill himself, I am deeply grieved and saddened by the lies this poor soul believed.
We All Face Real Danger
We all are at peril. No matter how strong you feel today, there can always be a time that you don’t now anticipate where your world is rocked. You can go from feeling strong and on top of the world to being devastated in life. That is unfortunately part of the human experience on Earth and those in the Church are no exception.
Your adversary is looking for ways to bully, intimidate, harass, embarrass, and eventually discredit and discourage you to the point of self destruction.
The ultimate end of these lying spirits is your death. Whether by the hand of another or by your own hand, your death is all that matters.
The devil has great wrath and is waging war in these last days to get the anointed of YHWH God to disconnect from one another an self-destruct in any ways he can instigate.
If you are in ministry or leadership in any way you are a target. You will be attacked by those bent on discrediting you and causing you great harm.
Like any thief, the devil attacks the least protected homes and lives. The more isolated the better. We all need to be connected in ways that protect and keep us in the day of trouble.
Five To Keep You Alive
What I’m about to share is based on what I’m getting in my spirit in this hour. I don’t care WHO YOU ARE, from the greatest of all Apostles, to the new born believer, we all need to listen to this word in my humble opinion.
No denomination or corporate headquarters is going to be there when you are under attack. That is neither realistic nor authentic in your life especially as a leader. We need to be less “corporate” and “organizational” and instead be more organic and a family.
Each of us have people that have been witnesses in our lives that we can call upon that are personal friends and family that know our calling, walk, purpose, and heart to serve our God and His people.
I admonish you to select from these 5 people whom you would count among your closest friends and ask them humbly to be part of your 5.
This means that if you come under attack, 5 others are coming to stand with you. Each of which have their own 5 who will stand with THEM if they need help.
We all need people in our lives who would stand with us to:
- Encourage us when we’re struggling
- Stand with us in Faith during times of transition
- Pray for us regularly
- Correct us when we need to see a different perspective
- Defend against attacks, slander, harassment, and condemnation.
In this way our circles do not have to be large but by way of our organic connection, could ripple through to many who will pray, stand, defend, and encourage one another through crisis and adversity.
Let me encourage you to choose these 5 wisely among mature and thoughtful believers who will take this responsibility seriously for not just a short term but long term and even lifelong connection that will strengthen and help you, and vice-versa in return.
1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”
This should not be taken casually as these are your “emergency contacts” who should take this responsibility seriously and soberly. These people whom you choose could literally mean the difference between life and death.
If someone asks you to be part of their 5, take that as an honor and a serious responsibility because you may literally make the difference between life and death for that person.
Choosing Your Five To Stay Alive
Take the time to prayerfully select 5 people who care about you, have known you a while and demonstrated true friendship, and are willing to stand with you through thick and thin to be there for you and you for them. Let it be that when the adversary seeks whom he may devour … he decides your house is too well fortified and goes after less vigilant prey.
You may start out with one or two and slowly over time add more until you reach 5. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that you take this seriously as it could mean the difference between losing your life, or preserving it.
I have sent a note to my “5″ because I believe God wants me to stay alive … have you chosen your “5?” … Do it today.
In this hour … let us be sober and vigilant to overcome in Jesus’ name. Amen.
